Boules are packed, coffee is made

My boules are packed and I'm ready to head off to Florida to Amelia Island. The largest pétanque open in the United States. There I will be competing against 165 other teams with my teammate, Alan Taeger from Eugene Oregon.

Next, we head to Merida on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. There's yet another pétanque open scheduled. Pétanque has taken off like wildfire across Mexico where they call it petanca. In this blog, I will attempt to describe what pétanque means to me and perhaps act as a petanque journalist as I share what petanca means to Mexico where in the last 5 years it must have grown from one club in Ensenda to an international competition in Merida.
